Small dangling lava pearl earrings

November 27, 2009

I sometimes like to play with different sizes and different styles when I have the same stones. I had made lava pearl earrings that dangle a few days ago but I just got some new stuff and then I wanted to make shorter dangling lava earrings.

These are the ones I made this week. They remind me of a lava necklace I made a few months back and I think they look nice.

Swarovski hearts – colorless and blue

November 27, 2009

I think that the Swarowksi heart necklaces I made are very cute and I might even put a gold wire on one of them to use on a gold chain myself. The only tough part is picking the color I might want to use, since there are so many nice ones!

These are not the usual stones I use in my jewelery since Swarovski makes crystals (mixing glass with lead). So these are more fragile than the other stones I usually use but those crystals sparkle a lot and that is eye-capturing, and sometimes I just like to watch glittery things ;)

Swarovski hearts – pink, red and purple

November 27, 2009

Since I made a few Swarovski heart necklaces I took pictures of them but wanted to have a few together on each photo to show the difference the color makes. I put the same kind of colors together so these are 3 necklaces, not one with 3 hearts :)

Swarovski hearts – metal green, yellow and light green

November 27, 2009

I was ordering an assortment of Swarovski hearts last time I ordered something for my jewelery making and I got a lot of colors.

Since I´ve been rather energetic lately I decided to make a few Swarovski necklaces and see how they look.

These are a few of them:

An amethyst lady

November 27, 2009

I once bought a strand of amethyst pearls. I took one of those stones and put a small lava pearl next to it and felt it looked like a lady. So this is an amethyst lady with a lava head :)

2009 course, 4th evening

November 20, 2009

For the 4th evening at the advanced silver smithing course at Tækniskólinn I wanted to make some more necklaces in the same shape as the one made on the 1st evening. I had some different gemstones to put in the bowl-like shape to see how they look different from the one with the white freshwater pearl. I had some cubic zirkonias and a pyrite with fools gold and I made one necklace with each gemstone. The one with the purple zirkonia is the biggest necklace and the one with the pyrite and the fools gold is the smallest.

I really like this shape at the moment and I might make some more necklaces like this with different stones in the near future.

Earrings – Lava

November 18, 2009

These earrings I made just to have different types of earrings to choose from. They dangle a lot and have 2 lava pearls of a different size, one larger and one smaller. I think they are cute and the tiny silver “drop” under the small lava pearl, that stops the lava from sliding off the silver wire, I find very nice.

Earrings – Lava and jaspis

November 18, 2009

These earrings where the ones my coworkers Herdís was most fond of.

They have lava pearls and jaspis the color of beige, light brown and a little gray. The jaspis is a natural rock in and comes in many earthen colors.

Earrings – Red coral and lava

These earrings are made with red coral and small lava pearls. I like how the red color of the coral and the black color of the lava go together!

November 18, 2009

These earrings are made with silver balls with man made crystals and small lava pearls.

They sparkle a lot and I love it!
