For Fiona – two things

My Forum friend, Fiona, asked me if I could make something out of some stones she had. The had been picked up at the Red Sea and she´d had them for a long time. I thought this was very interesting and fun and told her to send them over and I would look at them and see what I could do.

I really liked one of the beautiful blues stones she sent me and wanted to make something nice out of it. I made a setting around the stone and then hammered the silver to hold the stone in place. There were some cracks in the stone so I didn´t want to break it so I hammered very gently and put the silver sheet not too tight up against the stone. Then I put a thick and longer than usual chain on the necklace so it should look fabulous with turtleneck sweaters.

This is how it looks and I think the stone is beautiful and the necklace looks very nice

I also got a small Rose Quartz that I found pretty cute and made this tiny 14 kt Gold necklace:

I know she wanted to give her niece this necklace.

I hope Fiona likes her things and are happy that I made them for her… otherwise the stones would still be sitting in a shell collecting dust

Guðbjörg´s birthday present

This is the necklace Guðbjörg chose when I showed her the 2 necklaces she could choose from when she had her birthday last year. This is a silver sheet with a gold wire in a “swirl” on a black rubber cord and the fastening at the back is made in silver (not shown).

Cuff links for Bjarni

I made these cuff links for my ex coworker Bjarni last year. Since he was a sailor for some time I made an ocean out of 14 kt gold and the bird over the ocean is also made of gold. The base is silver. I like that motive and think these cuff links fit him perfectly.

Those are the first cuff links I have ever made and I must say I´m proud of myself for doing them so nicely:o)

Silver and gold brooch with Zirkon

I made this brooch in silver and gold. The base of it is silver but it has a gold wire on it and to add a certain sparkle I put a 8mm Zirkon on it. When I look at this brooch I see a Queen. The silver is the body and the Zirkon is the head.

Cross with silver and gold

This cross in one of a kind. I only made this one. It has silver vertical part and gold horizontal part.

It´s plain and elegant and has a delicate box chain that adds classic touch to it.

In Oktober I showed my jewellery at work. My ex-coworker, Runa, fell for this necklace and bought it.

It has silver base with a gold “swirl” on.  It is a simple and sweet design but a bit complicated to make because gold melts in lower temperature than silver. But it came out nicely!
